Election 2009:
Tiruvannamalai came into existence as a separate district of Tamil Nadu on 30th September 1989 by the bifurcation of the erstwhile North Arcot District. One sixth of the area of this district is covered by reserve forest and hills which is part and parcel of Eastern Ghats under Javvadhu Hills. Major Attractions Thiruvannamalai Town, Temples, Ashrams, Sathanur Dam.
