After crossing the age of 40, our bodies would start to experience changes and that is common. We could have slower metabolism and the digestive system would become more sensitive also. Bitter fact is that certain eating habits of us could lead to digestive issues like bloating, diarrhoea, gas and constipation etc.

Do not skip meals:

Many of us have the bad habit of skipping breakfast or the first meal of the day for various reasons. For the digestive system to run smoothly and efficiently, we must have 3 balanced meals and 2 to 3 healthy snacks throughout the day.

Stop gulping food quickly:

When we eat very fast or gulp foods then we would swallow air and this would lead to gas and bloating issues in us. It is highly necessary to chew the food well and then eat.

Eating excess of processed foods:

Unhealthy fats, added sugars etc would irritate the digestive system in us. It is important to concentrate on eating whole foods like fruits, vegetables etc.

Consuming too much alcohol etc:

By drinking too much alcohol, the stomach lining would get irritated and digestion would get disrupted. Hence, it is important to reduce the alcohol intake or even quit drinking also.

Not drinking enough water:

There are chances of constipation etc when we don`t drink enough water. It is necessary to drink atleast 8 glasses of water per day and stay hydrated.

Eating spicy foods:

Eating large portions:

There are chances of getting digestive issues like bloating, gas etc when we eat large portions of food. It is necessary to eat small portions of food.

Not eating plenty of fibre foods:
